Legislator of the Year Award
State Representative Janet Cruz was recently recognized as the House Member of the Year at the Community Health Charities of Florida 2010 Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon in Jacksonville.The award was presented by Community Health Charities of Florida President & CEO Gwen Cooper during the organization’s annual meeting on June 9, 2010, at the Florida State College at Jacksonville. Representative Cruz was given the award in recognition of her outstanding leadership and substantive work on House Bill 1603, which would have corrected flaws in the distribution of funds from the Florida State Employees Charitable Campaign.
“I am honored to have been recognized by Community Health Charities of Florida,” said Representative Cruz. “I share this organization’s commitment to supporting our state’s charitable organizations and look forward to working with them on health issues important to Floridians.”
